Gamma Chi Chapter at University of Denver

Chapter History

The Gamma Chi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta was founded at the University of Denver in 2000. Over the past 16 years, our chapter has grown tremendously. We are committed to the academic development of our members and are constantly providing them with innovative opportunities and experiences. It is also the hope of Tri Delta to encourage life-long philanthropic efforts. In 2001, we began fundraising for St. Jude with one annual philanthropy event – Cancer Strikeout. Now, we host several different philanthropic events per year, including Sincerely Yours – a letter writing campaign – and Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP). Additionally, members are involved with various community service organizations in and around the Denver area.

In the 2012-2013 academic year, Gamma Chi raised over $60,000 for St. Jude through these events, helping the national organization of Tri Delta reach its goal of raising $15 million in 5 years in only 3.5 years. In recognition of our contribution, we were awarded 2013 Chapter of the Year in the Silver Category at the annual Tri Delta/St. Jude Convention in Memphis, Tennessee. Then, in July 2014 we received the award for Top Fundraising Chapter in the Silver Category at the biennial Tri Delta Convention. And later on in 2014, St. Jude named us the top fundraising mid-size chapter in the country!

Our chapter has also been recognized for our achievements by the University of Denver. In 2013 and 2014, Tri Delta was both awarded Chapter of the Year during Greek Week and won the week-long competition. We hope to continue to flourish as a chapter in the coming years and are eager to see what the future holds in store for Gamma Chi.
